Memorial wall has unique way of honoring veterans

Just in time for Memorial Day, the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton is dedicating a wall of honor recognizing veterans and others who serve and have served our country.

The Legacy Data Plate Wall of Honor memorializes veterans and others with a military connection. Each memorial plaque is designed to resemble data plates on military aircraft but instead of model and serial numbers, there are loving remembrances.

Fewer of us traveling this holiday weekend, but not by much

AAA is projecting a slight decline in Memorial Day travel.  The automobile association says 34.8 million people will be traveling more than 50 miles from home Thursday through Monday.  Last year it was 35.1 million.   The automobile association estimates 1,312, 559 Ohioans plan to travel for the holiday, also a slight decline from last year. 

The economy's been doing better, but....

Cheryl Parker with AAA in Cincinnati said one reason for the decrease is the impact of the  federal government's budget sequester is starting to be felt.

Best in Show at Taste of Cincinnati

The 2013 Taste of Cincinnati winners are out. The annual food festival is Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-27. Organizers expect the event will draw 500,000 people.

Taste of Cincinnati adds new features, expands kids area

It's the unofficial kick-off to summer in the Queen City. Taste of Cincinnati draws 500,000 people to Downtown May 25-27 and this year it's getting bigger.

Organizers say the children's ride and game area is being expanded. Ten "signature restaurants" are participating in the newly created "Taste of Cincinnati USA Experience," a tented dining space in the P&G Gardens at Fifth and Sycamore streets.
