New CD from Cincinnati's Trio Pi

Jan 3, 2014

Michael Sharfe and Jim Leslie from the jazz ensemble Trio Pi are in the studio with our Frank Johnson to talk about their new CD, Straight Up Swingin’, and the upcoming release party at Washington Platform on January 12.

Yes, folks, it's that time of year for drinks, burritos, friends, family and CHRISTMAS FUN ! And behind it all will be a music machine comprised of STEVE SCHMIDT on Hammond organ, BRAD MYERS, guitar and ANTHONY T. LEE, drums.

And, adding sweet vocals on top, will be EUGENE GOSS and - for the first time at this event - DIXIE KARAS !

This soulful, swinging, ebony/ivory juggernaut will be layin' it down for 3 BIG NIGHTS this year : Thurs.,Fri. and Sat., 12/19, 20 & 21. (Thanks to the Comet for its generosity !)
