The Cincinnati Arts Association will present the acclaimed California Guitar Trio in concert, in the intimate confines of their Jarson Kaplan Theater, on Thursday, October 3. John Harig from the CAA and opening act, local guitar wizard Ric Hordinski, join Brian O’Donnell to talk about the music of the trio and how much fun their live shows are.
Sylvain Archer is the owner of the Madisonville shop French Rendez-Vous during the day, but away from the store he’s an accomplished guitarist. He joins Robyn Carey-Allgeyer to discuss his new, all-French CD with his new group, French Axe, recorded in the Corbett Studio at Cincinnati Public Radio, and featuring other top local musicians Eric Sayer on bass, Rob Allgeyer on Hammond organ and accordion and Mark on drums.
After a triumphant appearance with the Cincinnati Ballet in April, guitar virtuoso and former Cincinnatian Peter Framptonis coming back to town with a few of his friends: BB King and Sonny Landreth. They’ll be in concert at the PNC Pavilion on August 14 with a show called Frampton’s Guitar Circus Tour, and he spends a few minutes with Brian O’Donnell to talk about the music and these guitar legends.
Music great Peter Frampton is entering new territory – ballet! His music will be the focus of the next performances of the Cincinnati Ballet on April 26 and 27. In addition to some of his previously recorded music, he tells our Brian O’Donnell that he has written a brand new piece specifically for the ballet.
If you’ve been playing guitar for a couple of years and are ready to step up your skills and musicianship, then Ric Hordinski of monk is planning a week-long Wood and Wire Camp for you. These intensive weeks will take place at the Monastery Studio in Walnut Hills and will feature performing and song writing, as well as some evening concerts. Ric Hordinski joins Brian O’Donnell to share his goals for these camps, the first one happening in June.
