Downtown Cincinnati

We are now full in to the holidays, and downtown Cincinnati is lit up, the skating rink is open, and businesses and restaurants are ready for shoppers and diners. Tricia Suit, the director of marketing with Downtown Cincinnati, Inc. joins Mark Perzel with information on special holiday events happening in and around Fountain Square during this holiday season.


The Cincinnati Open Design Event (CODE) gets underway on October 17.  Designers of all types, developers, stylists, all gather together to discuss trends, technology and more in the areas of Style, Consumer and Entertainment. Mark Perzel welcomes Andrew Salzbrun to discuss the scope of this year’s CODE and the effort to outreach into the community during the four day by holding events throughout the downtown, Over the Rhine and Greater Cincinnati area.

Construction could begin next year on a $25 million plan to renovate the YMCA facility at the corner of Central Parkway and Elm in downtown Cincinnati.     

Officials say it will do several things including transforming the Y's exercise facilities and keeping its regional headquarters in the building. 

Bobby Maly with the Model Group made a presentation Monday to a City Council Committee. 

He said his company will be working on the upper stories of the structure.
