  Locals know you can get some truly outstanding barbeque around here. But no matter how good it is, you can usually run into those folks who claim it'’s not as good as what they can make. Well, here’'s the chance to see who really does grill-up the best pork, beef or chicken. Cincinnati' first sanctioned Ohio State Championship Kansas City Barbeque Competition hits Sawyer Point on October 10 and 11.

The world's best up-and-coming jazz trumpet players will converge at UC's College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) this week to compete for $15,000 in total prizes during the International Trumpet Guild's 2013 Carmine Caruso International Jazz and Trumpet Solo Competition, sponsored by the Herb Alpert Foundation.

For 11 days starting this September 11th, Cincinnati will be one of several cities competing in The Compassion Games.  The games are an outreach program by the Charter for Compassion, a worldwide network whose goal is to advance the spirit and practice of the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

Entrepreneurs are a growing force in our economy, so Xavier University has started X-LAB (Xavier Launch a Business), a competition between creative minds to earn mentoring from Xavier’s faculty, students and others with the expertise to help launch their idea.
