SI Kids "Big Book of Why Sports Edition"

If you have a child on your gift list who is a sports fan, or who just wants to know the “why” of everything, we may just have the book for you! Sports Illustrated Kids Big Book of Why Sports Edition answers questions like why three goals in hockey is called a hat trick; why don’t the Cleveland Browns have a logo on their helmet; and why do golf balls have dimples. One of the book’s editors, Bob Der, is in The Front Row with Betsy Ross to talk about how all these questions are answered, not just in words, but in photos, illustrations, graphs and more to keep the young ready engaged and entertained.

Glass Artists Publish Children's Book

Brazee Street Studios

Barbara Gray welcomes Sandy Gross and Leah Busch from Cincinnati’s Brazee Street Studios, which houses 25 local artists and offers classes in glass art. They are now moving into children’s books with their new Toast to Counting, the first in a series of board books to inspire creativity in children.

Harriet's Homecoming

Author Susan Sachs Levine has utilized Cincinnati landmarks and our history with the peregrine falcons as the focus of her new children’s book, Harriett's Homecoming: A High-Flying Tour of Cincinnati. Illustrated by Erin Burchwell, this book will take children all around the Queen City: the Zoo, Suspension Bridge, Main Library and more. Susan Sachs Levine joins Mark Perzel to discuss Harriet’s Homecoming and its inventive use of local attractions and landmarks.
