ArtsWave (formerly the Fine Arts Fund) is preparing to kick off their 2013 fundraising campaign, and that also means the start of this year’s three Saturdays of the Macy’s Arts Sampler. The Sampler is just that, a chance for people and families to get a taste of a wide variety of arts groups that call the Greater Cincinnati area home. Rebecca Bromels, the communications director for ArtWave, joins Mark Perzel in studio to talk about the Sampler events (the first Saturday of activities is February 9), this year’s campaign kick-off on Fountain Square on Friday, February 8, and the mission of ArtsWave in supporting arts organizations in our area.
Perhaps you’ve noticed a new magazine around town. It’s glossy, visual and all about Cincinnati. Domestica is the brainchild of Rachel Kirkwood. She describes it as a new shelter and lifestyle magazine promoting local eateries, farms, boutiques and non-profits in the Cincinnati region. She got it up and running with a Kickstarter campaign, and now the January issue is on the stands. Mark Perzel welcomes Rachel Kirkwood to the studio to find out her inspiration for this magazine, and what future issues will hold.

Mary Beth Weaver from the Cincy Blues Society talks with Lee Hay about this year’s anniversary event, some of the performers and how the Fest supports the efforts of the Society.
