Kentucky General Assembly in Session

The Kentucky General Assembly began its 2014 session on Tuesday. Legislators will be looking at issues ranging from funding infrastructure projects such as the Brent Spence Bridge replacement to raising the state’s minimum wage.   The camera loves us. Or at least it loves our hillsides, rivers, neighborhoods and architecture. Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky have been cast in dozens of feature films over the years, including "Rain Man", "Traffic", "Airborne", "The Ides of March" and, "A Rage in Harlem." And another major motion picture, "Carol", is scheduled to start production here this spring.

Explorer Tim Jarvis re-enacts the epic journey of Sir Ernest Shackleton

  In 1914, British explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton embarked for the South Pole, and nothing was heard from the expedition for three years. In that time Shackleton and his crew became stranded on an island, made an 800-mile voyage across the treacherous Southern Ocean, climbed over glaciated mountains to reach a whaling station, ultimately rescuing his remaining crew left stranded. In the winter of 2013, Explorer Tim Jarvis set out to re-enact Shackleton’s journey.
