Local children’s author Michele Wright has created a series of four books based on the seasons in order to share the magic of nature with her young readers. As she tells our Kelly Blewett, most of the photos illustrating these books are local scenes including the Cincinnati Zoo, Miami Whitewater Forest and more.

Jazz drummer Ron Enyard and the CD from a 1967 gig at Herbie's

Drummer Ron Enyard has been a fixture in the local jazz scene for many years, and has a regular gig at Om Eco Café in Clifton every Monday night. He’s with Frank Johnson to talk about a CD from a 1967 gig at the old Herbie’s (a club that was on the corner of Taft and Hackberry) with saxophonist Bobby Miller, pianist Sam Jackson, and bassist Burgoine Denny.

Local authors Carey Corp and Lorie Langdon have created a series of fantasy books, the Doon series, with the first novel, Doon, now available and the second, Destined for Doon, due out September 2. The authors are with Barbara Gray to discuss the series, the characters and plots, and a unique connection to a 1950’s era Broadway musical.

Congratulations to Cincinnati Shakespeare!

Congratulations to Cincinnati Shakespeare Company which is one of 40 theatre companies in the country to receive a $25,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts as a participant in the Shakespeare in American Communities program!  Shakespeare in American Communities introduces middle and high school students to the power of live theater and the masterpieces of William Shakespeare.
