Last month, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed that the rates of the three most common sexually transmitted diseases, chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis, are at an all-time high.
Especially affected are young adults and teens, who are at risk for developing fertility problems or chronic pain. Budget cuts to programs for STD care and prevention are cited as one factor for the increase.
