Ken Burns' highly anticipated look back at "The Vietnam War" premieres Sunday, Sept. 17, opposite the annual Emmy Awards.
PBS devotes 18 hours to the film at 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday for two weeks.
Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, who collaborated on "The Civil War," "Baseball," "Jazz" and "Prohibition," tell their story with restored archival footage, home movies, photographs, TV broadcasts, White House audio recordings, nearly 80 witnesses and 100 musical recordings.
On CBS, Stephen Colbert hosts the"69th Prime-Time Emmy Awards." "Saturday Night Live" got a head start last weekend, winning five awards at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Two went to "SNL" hosts Melissa McCarthy (Comedy Series Guest Actress) and Dave Chappelle (Comedy Series Guest Actor).
TV veteran Gerald McRaney won his first Emmy for a guest role on NBC's "This Is Us" drama, while Alexis Bledel won her first as a guest drama actress in Hulu's "The Handmaid's Tale."
ABC's "Shark Tank" won for "Best Structured Reality Program." Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" with host Trevor Noah was named "Best Short Form Variety Series."
Also new this week: Cincinnati based E.W. Scripps' new daytime series starring Kellie Pickler and Ben Aaron, ABC's "The Good Doctor" about a young surgeon with autism, the second and third broadcasts of Seth MacFarlane's "The Orville" on Fox, and Nick and Vanessa Lachey starting the quest to win the 25th season of "Dancing With The Stars."

Richard Schiff ("The West Wing") plays the only doctor at the hospital who trusts the young doctor.
