StartStrong is a local effort to reduce Hamilton County's infant mortality rate
The infant mortality rate in Hamilton County is 60% above the national average. StartStong is a collaborative effort launched here this spring designed to lower the rate of infant mortality by reducing the number of premature births and transforming how pregnant women and infants receive health care. Joining us to discuss that goal and StartStong's programs are Professor of Pediatrics at Children's Hospital Medical Center and President of Every Child Succeeds, Dr. Judy Van Ginkel; Beth Teeter, a StartStrong home visitor; and Ozie Davis III, executive director of the Avondale Comprehensive Development Corporation. StartStrong partners also include UC Health and TriHealth.
