Road closures around the Banks this week

The Banks Partnership

As work continues along the riverfront near the Banks and the stadiums, several road closures are planned this week.

Here's what you need to know:

Temporary Road Closures and Possible Traffic Delays July 30–August 2
Section of Pete Rose Way to close for lift and placement of pedestrian bridge girder

WHAT
All traffic lanes east and westbound, as well as north and south sidewalks on Pete Rose Way between Broadway and Johnny Bench Way will close at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 30 until 3 p.m. Friday, August 2.

Closures and re-routing of pedestrians and vehicles in the construction area will allow crews to work on lifting the Pete Rose Way pedestrian bridge girder into position.

WHERE
Pete Rose Way between Broadway and Johnny Bench Way will be closed.

Access from Second Street to the LL ramp to Mehring Way will be maintained.

All garage parking entrances and surface lot access will be maintained.

WHEN
Beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 30 until 3 p.m. Friday, August 2

WHY
Pete Rose Way’s complete closure between Johnny Bench Way and Broadway for four days will allow delivery of bridge bearings, positioning of cranes, and the lifting and placing the trapezoidal box girder which will form the new pedestrian bridge.

This work is the next step in completing the new pedestrian bridge that crosses Pete Rose Way and abuts to the U.S. Bank Arena with access to Great American Ball Park.
