Regional Emmy Awards Presented Saturday

National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences

Live from Lawrenceburg, it's me! I'll be doing a Ryan Seacrest imitation Saturday, as one of the backstage interviewers at the 52nd Annual Ohio Valley Regional Emmy Awards at the Lawrenceburg Event Center.

Awards will be presented Saturday for TV excellence to 346 nominees in 83 categories in the four-state Ohio Valley region which includes Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Lexington and Louisville.

The Ohio Valley Regional Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will stream two live webcastsstarting at 7 p.m. Saturday --  the awards ceremony hosted by Cleveland Cavaliers public address announcer Olivier Sedra, and a backstage stream with winners interviewed by experienced TV anchors/reporters Angela Reighard from Hazard KY, Tom and Nancy Kenny from Lexington, Barbara Deeb from Bowling Green, KY; and me.

You'll see familiar faces from Cincinnati TV, plus stations in Dayton, Columbus, Athens and Zanesville, Ohio; Lexington, Louisville and Bowling Green, KY; Evansville and Terre Haute, IN; and Charleston, Huntington, Parkersburg,  Clarksburg, Weston, Bluefield, Beckley and Oak Hill WVA.

"Silver Circle" honorees for at least 25 years in TV will be presented to four people: anchor Colleen Marshall and the late anchor/reporter Mike Bowersock from WCHM-TV in Columbus; Ohio Valley Chapter administrator Cherie Housley, president of Panoramic Productions in Dayton; and producer/host Deeb from Bowling Green University's Western Kentucky University Public Media.

Special guests for the evening include National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences President Bob Mauro and Daytime Emmy Awards Senior Vice President David Michaels from New York.

Mauro is a former CBS vice president who worked with network operations, CBS News, CBS Sports, "60 Minutes," David Letterman's "Late Show" and the "CBS Evening News." Michaels produced Dick Clark's "$25,000 Pyramid" and "$100,000 Pyramid" game shows, "Pictionary" and daytime talk shows starring Vicki Lawrence and Leeza Gibbons.
