Portman, Kasich don't even register in NH primary poll

In a poll of voters in the early presidential primary state of New Hampshire, Ohio's junior senator Rob Portman and Ohio governor John Kasich don't even register one percent support among Republican primary voters.

Kentucky's junior senator, Rand Paul, tops the list of 13 potential GOP presidential contenders for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination with 17 percent, followed by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at 16 percent.

The WMUR Granite State Poll, a well-known and respected poll in presidential politics, was conducted from Oct. 7 through 16 among 236 likely GOP primary voters. It was conducted by the University of New Hampshire's Survey Center.

Neither Portman nor Kasich have indicated they intend to run, but are often mentioned in the national media as potential 2016 GOP contenders.

On the Democratic side, former secretary of state Hillary Clinton is the runaway favorite among New Hampshire Democrats with 64 percent support. No one else - including Vice President Joe Biden - is double-digits. The poll surveyed 252 likely Democratic voters.
