Third grade students from across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky gathered in Washington Park Wednesday to dance, sing, and enjoy the arts. Here's a brief pictorial essay of the event.
Cincy Dance! was sponsored by the Cincinnati Ballet. Education and Outreach Director Julie Sunderland says "Our goal is to share the importance of healthy behaviors with kids, using dance and ballet as the vehicle."
The Kung Fu demonstration by the Blue Ash Shaolin Do was popular with the kids, who squealed with delight throughout.
Well, almost throughout. Here, students react to watching a Kung Fu performer break long wooden sticks across fellow performers' backs and stomachs.
Students also participated in a call-and-answer style storytelling performance led by The Children's Theatre teaching artist Deondra Means (not pictured).
