The National Weather Service forecasts the Ohio River at Cincinnati to crest Sunday afternoon at 60.6 feet. Flood stage is 52 feet.
Cincinnati and Dayton set daily maximum rainfall records Saturday, with Cincinnati's 2.26 inches beating the old record of 1.37 set in 2011. Dayton got 1.84 inches of rain Saturday, topping the old record of 1.63 set in 2016.
Roads are closed throughout the area along the river. The City of Cincinnati list these among the roads closed around 4:00 Sunday morning:
- I-275 Exit #72 to Kellogg Avenue – high water
- Apple Hill between Kellogg and Salem – high water and debris
- These closures make the Neighborhood of California only accessible via I-275 west entrance and exits.
- Portions of Mehring Way between Gest Street and Freeman Avenue – it is likely Freeman south of 6th Street and Mehring Way from Freeman to Pete Rose Way will be closed by 7:00 AM Sunday
- Dooley By-Pass in Northside near Spring Grove – high water and debris
- Columbia Parkway has reopened except between Delta Avenue and Wm. H. Taft Road -– high water and debris
- SB I-75 at 10.7 mm has partially reopened. The EPA is on scene mitigating the 200 gallons of fuel that leaked from the earlier crash.
The United States Post Office reports two local post offices are both temporarily closed because of flooding. The California, Kentucky, post office has been relocated to Alexandria, and the Ripley, Ohio, post office has been relocated to Georgetown. A news release from the USPS says "mail delivery is being attempted daily as flooding conditions permit."
