A new approach to assessing levels of dimentia, including Alzheimer's

Dementia expert Teepa Snow has developed a method to rate people with dementia called the Gems system, which assigns the names of precious gems to the special abilities a person retains. The system is being used to care for people with dementia, including Alzheimer'?s, at centers across the country, including here in Cincinnati. Teepa Snow and Debi Tyler, director of rehabilitation at Cedar Village Retirement Community, join us to discuss the Gems system, and Ms. Snow'?s book, The Gems and Dementia, Including Alzheimer?s: A Guidebook for Care Partners.

Teepa Snow is giving a free presentation about caring for people with Alzheimer'?s on Wednesday, June 25 at 7pm at Cedar Village Retirement Community in Mason. Contact Kathy Schlaeger at kschlaeger@cedarvillage.org or 513-754-3100 for more information.
