Your old favorites are there – Charlie Brown, Rudolph, Frosty, "White Christmas," "It's A Wonderful Life," "A Christmas Story," a half dozen versions of "A Christmas Carol," the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, "Bing Crosby's "Going My Way," the 1956 "I Love Lucy" Christmas show and the TV Land "MerryThon" of sitcom Christmas episodes on Sunday night Dec. 4.
Yes, "The Brady Bunch" Christmas episode with the late Florence Henderson is in the list, along with WLWT-TV's Ruth Lyons and Paul Dixon specials, and Christmas episodes for "Roseanne," "Golden Girls," "Mr. Ed," "Father Knows Best" and "Seinfeld." A Festivus for the rest of us!
You'll find plenty of new holiday shows and specials too: "Dolly Parton's Christmas of Many Colors," NBC's "Hairspray Live!," Tony Bennett's 90th birthday celebration, a half dozen new Lifetime and Hallmark movies, and new Christmas specials from "Empire" star Taraji P. Henson, Pentatonix, the Country Music Association and "America's Got Talent."
Also repeating this month are "Mary Poppins," "The Wizard of Oz," "The Sound of Music" and "CSO Presents Lumenocity."
And it's not just a TV list. The Vocal Arts Ensemble broadcasts a new holiday concert, and Lee Hay plays Christmas recordings made at King Records, a couple of the many WGUC-FM and WVXU-FM specials in my list.
One important reminder: As I explained in a blog last week,you'll need an antenna to see Perry Como, Andy Williams, Judy Garland, Bing Crosby, Mac Davis and Johnny Cash Christmas specials on GET TV, broadcast on over-the-air WSTR-TV subchannel 64.4.
