LIFT The TriState Helping Job Seekers Gain Confidence

Nov 13, 2017

Jobs in the transportation and warehousing industry are expected to grow by 6.8 percent in Cincinnati by 2022 according to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Employers often face a problem in finding enough qualified applicants to fill some of these more skilled positions.

Now, the Freestore Foodbank has launched LIFT the TriState to train people who are unemployed and underemployed to land these jobs. The 12-week course teaches basic math and computer skills and participants leave program certified to operate a forklift. They also gain the confidence to build a resume and interview for a job.

LIFT the TriState was launched in partnership with the Life Learning Center, Gateway Community and Technical College and BelFlex Staffing Network.

Here to discuss the program are Freestore Foodbank President and CEO Kurt Reiber; LIFT the TriState Manager Will McAleenan; and Program Graduate Dexter Daniels.
