On the issues: "'Cleaner, greener, smarter,' has been my theme,'' Quinlivan said. "I am the only candidate out there talking consistently about environmental issues and sustainability." She wants to see the city create a "green jobs task force" to seek out developers of environmentally-sound businesses in the neighborhoods. She said that when she talks to people in the city "the issue that comes up over and over again is the development coming into their neighborhoods. They feel like it is coming in at the last minute; and that they have no say in it." People in the neighborhoods must be involved in development projects from the beginning and through to completion, she said.
