It's a Valentine's Day blues show this week!

This was a fun show to put together since I enjoyed listening to lots of favorites this morning.  It was hard to narrow down the songs to share for this lovey-dovey edition of The Blues.  But, we'll start off with one of my favorites from back in the day, Leon Russell's "A Song For You," from his self-titled album on Shelter Records.  That's followed by Shemekia Copeland's, "Happy Valentine's Day," Etta James' classic "At Last," and then Leonard Cohen, "I'm Your Man."

The second set begins with Peter Frampton, "Heart to My Chest."  After that, one of my all-time favorites, "Peel Me a Grape" by Diana Krall and another favorite by Miles Davis, "My Funny Valentine."  The third set features songs by Johnny Adams, Dr. John with some help from Rickie Lee Jones, and Phoebe Snow.

And finally, we'll end with Ernestine Anderson on "Body and Soul" accompanied by the great George Shearing backing her on piano, Harry Connick, Jr's "Recipe for Love," and Louis Armstrong "That Old Feeling."  If there's time, the very last song will be Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Close to You."  Still putting the show together, so not quite sure at this point.
