These packing materials are not recyclable.

Adams-Clermont Solid Waste District Director Paul Braasch says he doesn't know what's driving the increase in illegal dumping at the 36 recycling sites. He says a few people might be confused but most don't care when they drop off mattresses, tires, hot tubs, packing materials and more.

"It happens so much that we employ a crew to go around and clean up the sites all the time. Every week they're out. They try to visit each site twice a week," he says.

Braasch has had to close the drop off site at Auxier Trucking & Excavating, 1275 Ohio Pike, in Amelia.

Crews travel to the recycling sites twice a week to remove junk in Clermont and Adams County.

According to Braasch, "It is an increasing trend we've seen in the last year or two. So I'm not sure what's driving it over the past."
