Hurricane Sandy affecting local airports

Hurricane Sandy is causing headaches for air travelers up and down the eastern seaboard, and in Greater Cincinnati and the Miami Valley.

Upwards of 90 flights into and out of the Cincinnati and Dayton airports have been canceled.

CVG Spokeswoman Molly Flanagan anticipates returning to full operation soon.

"The airlines will obviously want to get up and running as soon as possible," she says. "I would anticipate some of those flights coming back online Wednesday and Thursday."

CVG and Dayton International recommend calling ahead to check your flight if you're scheduled to fly during the next few days.

Cincinnati is also helping out airports in the path of the storm.

Flanagan says, "We did not get any diverted flights with passengers but we did temporarily house some other planes."

She says CVG housed planes from multiple airlines, though she does not have specific numbers.
