Hoxworth Blood Center Celebrates 75 Years

In 1938 Dr. Paul Hoxworth and his wife Nancy started Cincinnati’s fist blood bank, the second in the nation. Today, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood, and to meet that demand more than41,000 blood donations are needed every day.  Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati Director Dr. Ronald Sacher, and Hoxworth Blood Center Community Relations Manager Alecia Lipton discuss the Center’s history, and the continual need for blood donors.
