Housing market continues to see double-digit increases

Home sales up 24% in Cincinnati

For the 26th straight month Cincinnati homes sales have continued to climb. In August they were up 24% when compared to the same month last year. President of the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors Kevin Kelly says, "Our local housing market is very active and properties that are in good condition and are prices right seem to be selling quickly."

  • Mortgage rates are up about 1% from a year ago
  • The inventory of homes for sale has declined 10%
  • Average selling price $171,417

Home sales up 15% in Northern Kentucky

The Northern Kentucky Association of Realtors says buyers are finding they have to act quickly because more and more properties are involved in multiple offer situation. From August, 2012 to August, 2013 home sales were up 15%. This is the 26th straight month of increases.

  • Average selling price $156,131

Nationwide, August home sales were up 13.2% since August of 2012.
