Harry Connick Jr., Robert Irvine, T.D. Jakes Coming To Daytime TV

Fox Broadcasting

Hello Harry! Welcome pastor T.D. Jakes and "Restaurant: Impossible" host Robert Irvine.

They're the big stars of daytime TV this fall, starting Monday Sept. 12.

With "American Idol" ending production, Harry ConnickJr. is devoting his energy to a new syndicated "Harry"daytime talk show premiering Monday, Sept. 12 (9 a.m., Channel 12), opposite NBC's "Today" show, "Live with Kelly" (as it's called until she find a replacement for Michael Strahan) and "Fox 19 News Morning Xtra" here. He's hoping to be the Next Big Thing in daytime TV since "Ellen."

The singer-musician-actor told writers at the Television Critics Association meetings in August why he wanted to host a daytime show:

"I love to entertain and I've done so many things throughout my career that have fulfilled me, I felt like this would be an opportunity to do all the things I love to do under one roof.  I'll get to experience the entertainment business in a new way," he said.

Sandra Bullock, his "Hope Floats" (1998) co-star, will be his first TV guest. Also scheduled for premiere week: Renee Zellweger, Amy Adams, and "Empire" star Terrence Howard, with cameos by Russell Crowe, Kristen Bell, Zooey Deschanel, Anthony Anderson, John Stamos and Taraji P. Henson. The second week opens Sept. 19 on the set of Fox's "Empire."

"Harry" replaces "Wendy Williams," which moves to sister CW Cincinnati/Channel 12.2.

Robert Irvine

Irvine, best known from Food Network's "Restaurant: Impossible" and "Dinner: Impossible" makeover shows, takes over the CW's 3 p.m. weekday slot which "Bill Cunningham" filled for five years. Cunningham, 68, ended the show in May rather than sign a new three-year TV contract with Tribune Broadcasting. The last daytime "Cunningham" show airs this Friday, Sept. 9.

CW says the "Robert Irvine Show" will be a "conflict resolution talk show."

Also at 3 p.m. on Sept. 12, "T.D. Jakes" premieres on WCPO-TV (Channel 9), replacing Tyra Banks' canceled "FABLife."  The Dallas author, filmmaker and pastor of the 30,000-member Potter's House, a non-denominational church, has been seen on BET and Trinity Broadcasting.

Here are the daytime weekday changes around the dial:

WLWT-TV (Channel 5) and WSTR-TV (Channel 64): No daytime changes on Channels 5 and 64.

WCPO-TV (Channel 9): "T.D. Jakes" replaces Tyra Banks' "FABLife" at 3 p.m. Sept. 12. Kelly Ripa continues to audition co-hosts on "Live with Kelly" (9 a.m.).

WKRC-TV (Channel 12): "Harry" replaces "Wendy Williams" at 9 a.m. Sept. 12. "Wendy" moves to sister CW Channel 12.2.

CW CINCINNATI (Channel 12.2): "Robert Irvine" replaces "Bill Cunningham" at 3 p.m. Sept. 12. "Wendy Williams" replaces canceled "Crazy Talk" at 4 p.m.

Syndicated reruns of Tim Allen's "Last Man Standing" will air at 11:30 p.m. (replacing "Rules of Engagement") and 12:30 a.m. (replacing "How I Met Your Mother") starting Sept. 19.

WXIX-TV (Channel 19):  On Sept. 12, "Judge Faith" moves from 4:30 p.m. to noon, replacing "Flip My Food with Chef Jeff."

Episodes of "Judge Alex," the Alex Ferrer series canceled in 2014, will air at 12:30 p.m. instead of "Fix It & Finish It." Another "Judge Alex" airs at 4:30 p.m., between two "Judge Judy" episodes.

Also on Sept. 12, former NBC News and "Dateline NBC" reporter Chris Hansen takes over "Crime Watch Daily" at 3 p.m., renamed as “Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen.”
