According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASCPA®), almost 3.5 million cats enter animal shelters nationwide each year. Of those, more than a million are euthanized. In Greater Cincinnati shelters, thousands of cats are euthanized annually.
A female cat left unspayed can have up to twelve kittens in a single year. Spaying and neutering cats can help control overpopulation and reduce the number of cats that are abandoned and euthanized.
