DHL Express is adding 300 positions as it wraps up its hub expansion at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. The logistics company hosts a job fair Tuesday to immediately fill 100 of the new openings. Recruiter Chris Reinersman says the number of employees has been growing since DHL established its U.S. international hub at CVG three years ago:
"In 2009, we had about 1,600 people here at CVG in the operation. Currently we're at about 2,000. So the 2,000 plus the 300 we hope to get by the end of this year--about 2,300 by the end of this year."
The hiring fair is at the Holiday Inn located off I-275 at the Mineola Pike exit in Northern Kentucky. It runs from 8 to 11 Tuesday morning and 4 to 7 Tuesday afternoon.
Reinersman says these are service agent positions that range from forklift operation to basic package handling and sorting. He says most of them are part-time positions for the third shift.
Construction of the 193,000-square-foot addition is scheduled for completion in early November. DHL says, with the current facility expansion, it will have invested $105 million in its CVG hub since 2009. .
