DCI launches public art map

Downtown Cincinnati Incorporated has created an online database of public art that features the city's fountains, monuments, murals and architecture.  It's all the things that DCI says make the streets of downtown an outdoor gallery on view 24/7.

The websitealso includes itineraries for five walking tours with a focus on specific artworks, shops and eateries along each route:

  • Hometown Heroes
  • Music City
  • The Old Ballgame
  • Take in the History
  • Mother(lode) of Presidents

"These unique, themed itineraries provide a new way to experience downtown," said DCI president David Ginsburg.  "Hometown Heroes, for example, stops at the magnificent Carew Tower and the whimsical Charley Harper mural, ending with a delicious ice cream treat at Graeter's.  We know that great art makes downtown more attractive to residents, visitors, and workers who want to spend more time and money downtown.  It's a win-win for everyone."
The DCI database was developed using information from the Cincinnati Parks, ArtWorks, and A Guide to Public Art in Cincinnati.
