CW Wants To 'Charm' Viewers Again

May 17, 2018

Add "Charmed" to the growing list of rebooted TV series. The CW will revive the old WB series (1998-2006) about sisters with magical powers when the network expands to six nights a week in October by adding Sunday night programming.

The new "Charmed" will star Melonie Dias ("The Breaks," "Nip/Tuck"), Sarah Jeffery ("Shades of Blue," "Wayward Pines"), Madeleine Mantock ("Into the Badlands," "The Tomorrow People") and Rupert Evans ("Helboy"). It will be paired with "Supergirl" on Sundays.

It is one of three new dramas for fall, joining "All American," about a star football player (Daniel Ezra, "The Missing," "Prey") from Compton playing for Beverly Hills High School; and "Legacies," about "the next generation of supernaturals" in the tradition of CW's "The Originals" (which was canceled) and "Vampire Diaries."

The network also announced that "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," "Jane the Virgin" and "iZombie" will end next season.

GONERS: "The Originals," "Life Sentence," "Valor."

RENEWED: "The 100," "Arrow," "Black Lightning," "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," "Dynasty," "The Flash," "Jane the Virgin," "Legends of Tomorrow," "Masters of Illusion," "Penn & Teller: Fool Us," "Riverdale," "Supergirl," "Supernatural," "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" and the "iHeartRadio Music Festival."

In production for midseason are two new shows, "In The Dark," and "Roswell, New Mexico."
