CVG finds niche with smaller airlines like Ultimate Air

Less than three months since Frontier Airlines starting flying out of CVG, the airport announced Wednesday public charter service Ultimate Air Shuttle will start service to Morristown Airport, NJ September 9th.

Ultimate Air Managing Director Rick Pawlak says the advantages are many:

  • Free ground transportation between CVG, Fountain Square and Lunken Airport
  • Complimentary parking at CVG next to the Administration Building
  • No TSA security checks
  • Late check-in
  • Quick boarding
  • No baggage fees
  • No cancellation fees

Pawlak expects most of his customers to be business travelers, but says the leisure sector is growing. Ultimate Air will fly four days a week from CVG to suburban New York City. On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays the charter departs at 10:45 a.m. On Wednesday flights depart CVG at 6:30 a.m.

Lunken Airport service continues

Ultimate Air flies Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday out of Lunken at 6:30 a. m., landing at 8:00. There are also flights to Chicago (Midway) and Charlotte (Charlotte-Douglas International Airport-Wilson Air Center).

Talks continue with other carriers

CEO Candace McGraw says private charters are becoming very popular. So are low-cost carriers, like Frontier.  The airport is continuing to negotiate with companies like Allegiant Air.
