Cincinnati's Newest Mural: Get Up

Irish-born graffiti artist Maser is internationally-known for his murals, and now he has added another large, outdoor work to a building in the Pendleton neighborhood of Cincinnati.

The mural entitled "Get Up" can be found at 522 E, 12th Street, between Pendleton St. and reading Rd.

The Cincinnati mural is indicative of Maser's work, which usually involves large fields of bold, contrasting colors and strong diagonal lines.  Maser says that his background in graphic design - and typography in particular - is what has helped him develop his artistic style.

The site for the artwork was chosen by AGAR, a local company that specializes in event coordination.  AGAR and Maser first collaborated on a skate park in Arkansas.

The painting will officially be unveiled on Friday, March 29th as part of Pendelton's Final Friday.   The event will include an artist's reception from 7 - 11 p.m. as well as other art installations by Maser.  Live music will be provided by local artists Archer’s Paradox, Black Signal and DJ Clockwork.
