Cincinnati's seeking proposals to create a regional transit mobility app.
City Manager Harry Black announced the idea Wednesday at a Smart Regions Conference at Northern Kentucky University.
Black says it will be designed to help people travel around the area.
"This app is intended to be a tool by which every person matriculating through Cincinnati may optimize their own unique mobility experience," Black says in a news release. "We're looking to enhance connectivity and mobility as we continue to build Cincinnati into a truly smart city."
Personalization will be based on user preferences such as cost, public transit, number of stops, environmental concerns and healthy lifestyles.
The city's asking developers to combine transportation data from various providers such as the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky and Red Bike. It could also incorporate information from Lyft and Uber.
