MADD and AAA are again offering their Care Cab for New Year's revelers who have too much to drink and can't safely drive home. The two organizations say with New Year's day consistently ranking as one of the year's most dangerous holidays for impaired driving. The program is an effort to prevent drunk driving fatalities.
Here's how it works:
Care Cab will be available 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31 through midnight on Wednesday January 1, providing 30 hours of free service. The cab ride by Towne Taxi is free for callers, 21 years old and over, in need of safe transportation from a public establishment to a private residence within the I-275 loop. Call 513-381-FREE (513-381-3733) to request service. The phone line will be active beginning at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31.
Care Cab has provided more than 2,000 rides to nearly 5,300 passengers. Hamilton County Safe Communities is also a partner of the program.
