The Blues: 3.4.17 show

This week's blues show, which airs 11pm on Saturday, March 4th, begins with a new Alligator release by Elvin Bishop's Big Fun Trio.  Elvin Bishop was a founding member of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band in the early 60's.  The rest of the first set features Delbert McClinton, Eli Cook (who tours around Virginia), Debbie Davies, and the great Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Gov't Mule starts off the second set followed by Derek & the Dominos, Leon Russell, and the John Ford Blues Society.  I bumped into a Youtube video of Leon Russell's memorial service on November 18, 2016, at the Victory Baptist Church in Mt. Joliet, Tennessee.  Very moving.

And the last set features John Scofield, Lucinda Williams, Sweet Honey in the Rock, and ends with Vinx's version of "Moondance."
