The Blues: 3.12.16 show

This week's blues show starts off with "Swan Blues" from King Pleasure's album, Moody's Mood for Love which was recorded in 1962.  This is followed in the first set by Johnny Adams, Kurt Elling and Tom Waits.

The second set of the program begins with Jon Cleary's "Frenchmen Street Blues" from the soundtrack to "Treme: Music from the HBO Original Series Season 2".  Jimmy Witherspoon and a classic Red Garland song "Skinny's Blues" from a 1961 session at Van Gelder's studio complete the set.

A little taste of Miles Davis, "Basin Street Blues" and "Black Coffee" from Sarah Vaughan are heard in the beginning of the last set.  You'll also hear from Harry Connick, Jr and from Chicago, the great Ken Nordine brings this blues program to an end.
