"It's not a sexy issue, but it must be replaced," Murray said. "It is a hazard." She was not a supporter of building the streetcar, but as chair of council's transportation committee, she has an oversight role to play in running it. "We may not have liked it in the beginning, but we all have a stake in seeing this succeed," Murray said. "If we shut it down, we would have to pay back a whole lot of money to the federal government."
