ame-church.com

The largest black Methodist denomination in the United States is bringing its 2024 convention to the Queen City. The African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church will hold its 2024 General Conference at the Duke Energy Convention Center July 3-10.

In a statement, the organization says the event is expected to draw some 20,000 attendees "using more than 27,000 hotel room nights and delivering more than $8 million in visitor spending to the region."

The Cincinnati USA Convention and Visitor's Bureau (CVB) reports it is the largest convention booked since the World Choir Games in 2012.

Cincinnati beat out Nashville to land the convention. CVB CEO Dan Lincoln says, "A decade ago, we made the religious and multicultural meetings market a top priority for Cincinnati USA, and that strategy continues to bring great benefits to Cincinnati."

He adds, "The AME is one of the most influential and venerated religious organizations in the world, and their choice of Cincinnati for their 2024 emphasizes our strength in this meetings market."
