NKU is now part of the National String Project, offering affordable instruction

The Northern Kentucky University Music Preparatory Department is one of the newest members of the prestigious National String Project consortium, a nationally recognized coalition of sites offering affordable, quality stringed instrument instruction at colleges and universities across the United States. Frank Johnson welcomes Dr. Holly Attar and Dr. Amy Gillingham from NKU to talk about this program and how students and the community can join in.

The Alphabet as Art

Purveyors of locally-made art supplies and music, Rock Paper Scissors presents The Alphabet Show! as part of February's Final Friday downtown celebration.

The Alphabet Show! is a fun and family-friendly exhibit that focuses on the identity, typography and cultural associations of each letter of the English alphabet - plus four common punctuation marks. Thirty regional and national artists have been asked to create a graphic interpretation of an individual letter.

Cincinnati now has its own Bach Festival starting March 9

Cincinnati will finally have its own Bach Festival, starting March 9 and running through the end of the month. The festival is being organized by the newly formed Collegium Cincinnati, led by Christopher Eanes, director of the Cincinnati Boychoir. He’s with Anne Arenstein to discuss the Bach Festival, including events, venues and performers.

Know Theatre and Freedom Center presenting "We Will Rise"

Know Theatre is joining with the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center to revive the haunting, emotional We Will Rise: Selections from The Afghan Women’s Writing Project in honor of National Women’s Month. Eric Vosmeier, the Know’s artistic director, and Rachel Griner, a P&G loaned executive working with the Freedom Center, talk with Jim Stump about this staged reading production and how the Know commissioned the creation of this script.
