Toyota is leaving its headquarters in Erlanger, Kentucky. The company announced Monday it’s building a new headquarters in Plano, Texas. The move is expected to take a couple of years, but it already has many concerned about what it will mean to the Greater Cincinnati Region.

Toyota plans to relocate nearly 1600 jobs from its Erlanger, KY facility. The car company says it is building a new headquarters in Plano, Texas.

Beginning this summer, approximately 1,000 jobs at Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA) in Erlanger will be relocated in small batches to Texas. The majority, however, won't move until the new headquarters are built, which could be in late 2016 or early 2017.
