A Cincinnati police officer suggested Friday she thought Ray Tensing was likely justified in shooting Sam DuBose, leading assistant prosecutor Seth Tieger to object saying "I don't think anybody could ever express their opinion to the ultimate issue in this case."

Indeed, that point is the central question at play in the retrial of Ray Tensing for the death of Sam DuBose.

Jurors in the retrial of former UC police officer Ray Tensing for the shooting death of Sam DuBose saw the body camera video of the incident during the first day of proceedings. Tensing looked away from the courtroom's large screen television as the shooting played out just a few feet from where he was seated at the defense table.

After dismissing around 60 potential jurors for various reasons including vacations, family concerns, and health issues, the potential pool stands at 107 people. Courtroom observers estimate there are approximately 17 African-Americans remaining in that group.

Clarification: The judge's order states 38 people indicated on their questionnaires they'd be unwilling to serve if their identities were to become known. The order adds 39 people indicated they'd be concerned for their safety. The 77 referenced below adds those two numbers together. However, WVXU has no way of knowing how much overlap there is between the 38 and the 39.

Update 2 p.m. Shortly after Cincinnati Edition aired, Judge Leslie Ghiz vacated her order restricting media access during the Tensing retrial.
