Starting their 26th year in business, Gray & Pape is based at 13th and Main, but has offices in Indianapolis, IN; Richmond, VA; Providence, RI; and beautiful Rabbit Hash, KY. Kevin Pape from Gray & Pape joins Mark Perzel in studio to discuss his company’s work, successes, and plans for the next 25 years.


1207 Returns to OTR

A new music venue is opening in OTR!

It is called "1207" - a throwback to the original venue from the 1990's.

Located just upstairs from Cincy by the Slice, Venomous Valdez - a regular friend of the show says it will be a "little room with an emphasis on Americana/Folk/Jazz/Blues/Indie Rock."

The "soft opening" will be this Thursday, December 13th.

On Stage: Alice in Wonderland

Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati continues its holiday tradition of presenting creative and locally written versions of some of the greatest children’s tales. This year, the classic Alice in Wonderland returns with all of the one-of-a-kind Lewis Carroll beloved characters. Our Rick Pender welcomes in two of the actors, Michael Bath and Sara Mackie, with a preview of this year’s production.

The renaissance of Cincinnati’s Over the Rhine neighborhood has been extraordinary, from the Gateway District to Washington Park and all points in between. Joining Mark Perzel with an update of OTR’s growth and future plans, along with a look at some of the many holiday happenings taking place, are Emilie Johnson, president of the OTR Chamber, and Bobby Maly, a member of the OTR Chamber board.


Cincinnati Council will vote Wednesday on more than $13 million of funding assistance for two economic development projects in Over The Rhine. 

The Budget and Finance Committee approved the items Tuesday.

3CDC is seeking help for the continuing work on Mercer Commons and Gateway V.  Both developments include housing and retail space.

Council Member Chris Seelbach cast a no vote on a portion of the funding because of the process.

MidPoint Music Festival kicks off Thursday night in Washington Park.

One of my favorite neighborhoods to cover was Over the Rhine.  I lived in OTR for 3 and half years and look forward to transplanting my family back downtown.  Every morning on my way to work I would hear laughter coming from Peaslee Neighborhood Center.  It was a joy to revisit this interview.

In advance of the new school year, Jane Durrell welcomes President John Sullivan from the Art Academy of Cincinnati to talk about the school’s fall term, their community education programs, and his feelings regarding Cincinnati since recently relocating here.

Linford Detweiler and Karin Bergquist of Over the Rhine will be performing a special Valentine's Day concert for broadcast on WVXU. Linford and Karin recently celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary and have been touring, writing and recording together for over 20 years. For this broadcast Karin & Linford will perform songs from Over the Rhine's entire catalogue and will share with interviewer Brian O'Donnell some stories and reflections on their relationship and their adventurous life together.
