  Today there are more than 120,000 people waiting for a life-saving organ transplant.

  We continue our look at organ donations in the United States, as we discuss the growing use of tissue and cornea transplants. More than 47,000 corneas were transplanted in 2013, and more than 1 million tissue transplants are done each year.

  Approximately 18 times each day, someone dies while waiting for an organ transplant. Today there are more than 117,000 people waiting for a life-saving transplant. April is National Donate Life Month, and joining us to discuss organ donation is Dr.

There are currently over 115,000 men, women and children in the United States who are waiting for some type of organ transplant. Many wait years for a compatible donor.
