World-renowned soprano Dawn Upshaw returns to town to open Chamber Music Cincinnati's season

  One of the world’'s great sopranos, Dawn Upshaw, last performed in town as Margarita, a role written for her, in the Cincinnati Opera’'s 2009 production of Ainadamar. She comes back to Cincinnati on Tuesday, September 23, to perform with pianist Gilbert Kalish to open Chamber Music Cincinnati’'s 85th season at CCM’s Corbett Auditorium. The Grammy award-winner joins us by phone.

The new Queen City Chamber Opera

New Philip Glass opera, "Galileo Galilei," coming to SCPA

The Cincinnati Opera will perform the Philip Glass opera, Galileo Galilei, in its new second home, the intimate Corbett Theater at Cincinnati’s School for Creative and Performing Arts. Anne Arenstein welcomes in two of the three cast members from this brand-new production: Richard Troxell, and Alexandra Schoeny to talk about the Glass score and performing in the smaller SCPA space.

Cincinnati Opera Season Preview

Washington Park is the site for Cincinnati Opera's community concert, Opera in the Park.

The Cincinnati Opera’s Evans Mirageas joins Anne Arenstein to preview the upcoming opera festival, including the first ever Opera in the Park event on June 9 in Washington Park, as well as their first off-site opera, Galileo Galilei, which will be performed in the School for Creative and Performing Arts’ Corbett Theater.
