No better way to celebrate Independence Day (and weekend) than a community parade, carnival, food trucks, kid events and music! Chris Nascimento sits down with Robyn Carey-Allgeyer with a preview of the upcoming Fourth of July Rock n’ Roll Carnival in Northside.

What started as a plan among friends to throw a great party has blossomed into a celebration of local music that now enters its seventh year.

The Northside Music Festival helps to launch the summer music festival season by presenting 18 bands on 3 stages for 2 nights at Northside Tavern - all for free.

This Saturday, Northside Presbyterian Church will be filled with thousands of LPs, EPs, 12-inch, 10-inch and 7-inch vinyl, 45s, 78s, and everything in-between as the 2nd Annual Northside Record Fair, presented by Dome, a local music promotion company and record label, opens its doors.

On Saturday, October 26th, minds will be expanded and doors to perception will be opened as Mayday in Northside hosts the 2nd Annual Cincy Psych Fest. Psych Fest is a celebration of music designed to engulf the listener in a gooey-sticky cluster of psychedelic imagination.

Former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, who was critically wounded in a shooting at an event in Tucson in Jan. 2011, and her husband, former astronaut Mark Kelly participated in the Northside Independence Day parade Thursday as part of a seven-state "Rights and Responsibilities" tour.

May is National Bicycle Month, and to help celebrate, Local Exposure presents a series of stories about bikes and cycling in Greater Cincinnati.

The MoBo Bicycle Cooperative is a non-profit volunteer-run cooperative dedicated to making cycling accessible and practical to everyone in the greater Cincinnati area. 

National Day of Puppetry on April 20

Cincinnati will celebrate National Day of Puppetry on April 20 with shows, crafts and a historical display of puppets from the Cincinnati Area Puppetry Guild at Happen, Inc. in Northside. Terrence Burke, creator of Wump Mucket Puppets, talks with Jim Stump about the current popularity of puppetry on stage and the rich history of puppets and puppeteers here in Cincinnati.

In less than three years, Queen City Cookies has taken the food world by storm! Recognized by trade magazines, their cookies carried in stores around the country, and their bacon schnecken has won numerous awards. This year, they had to move into a larger space to accommodate a substantially increased production process.
