The City of Mason is quickly becoming a magnet for high-tech companies. Faced with challenging economic times and competition from neighboring cities, Mason decided to get creative to target these sectors:
Festo, a German-based manufacturing company, is moving its production, assembly and distribution facility from Long Island, New York to Mason. The new 175,000 sq. ft. building will open in 2015 along the growing I-71 technology corridor on a 45-acre site. Earlier this year WVXU reported Mason has created nearly $110 million in new investment and created 1,400 new jobs since 2011.
The faculty of The School of Rock is associated with several notable Cincinnati bands such as The Rusty Griswolds, Wussy, Fairmount Girls and Afghan Whigs. They take students of all ages from the lesson room to the stage by developing their confidence and musicianship with programs designed for all skill levels.
I met with Tim Garry, owner and General Manager and Chris Barlow, Bass Instructor and Show Director from The School of Rock.
One of the truly great events the Cincinnati area hosts every year is the Western & Southern Open at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason. This year’s event will happen August 10 -18, and the real backbone of this successful tournament is the army of volunteers who help visitors, players and sponsors enjoy being at a world-class tennis tournament. Mary O’Connor, the volunteer coordinator for the Open, joins Robyn Carey-Allgeyer with all the information about how to volunteer, positions available, and the perks that come with the job.
