Cincinnati to help lead national water discussion

The Executive Director of Greater Cincinnati Water Works and the Metropolitan Sewer District, Tony Parrot, will participate in a national discussion on U.S. water infrastructure Wednesday in Washington D.C.

Parrot joins the U.S. EPA's Nancy Stoner, Veolia Water North America and Mark Strauss with American Waterin the Value of Water Coalition's national panel discussion to help other communities deal with crumbling water and wastewater infrastructure.

New urban waterway to make South Fairmount flow better

This building, near Queen City Ave. and Ekardt, is one of 20 being demolished in Phase I to make room for a new urban waterway in South Fairmount.

In the next few years, Westside residents will get some relief from flooding and sewer runoff.

Demolition is underway in South Fairmount for what will become a green space to capture rainwater, hold it back and not let it get into the combined sewer right away.

Federal officials praise Cincinnati's green initiatives

A trio of deputies from the Environmental Protection Agency, Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Transportation toured sites along Cincinnati's proposed streetcar route Thursday. They're checking out sustainability projects such as rain gardens and housing developments.
