Kasich, Beshear, LaHood say tolls will be part of a new Brent Spence Bridge

The Brent Spence Bridge was built to handle 80,000 vehicles a day. It's now estimated to have 160,000 a day.

Funding for a new Brent Spence Bridge will include tolls, according to U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, and governors from Ohio and Kentucky who gathered Wednesday in Covington. But that doesn't mean everyone is on board with the idea.


As Ohio Governor John Kasich stood beside his Kentucky counterpart announcing the states would be working together to build a new bridge, he didn't shy away from letting a roomful of officials and reporters know that a toll would be part of it.

Quinnipiac Poll: Good news and bad news for Kasich

More Ohio voters approve than disapprove of Ohio Gov. John Kasich's job performance, but they are still not convinced he should be re-elected in 2014, according to a Quinnipiac University Poll released Tuesday.

Hard road to re-election for Kasich?

Ohio Gov. John Kasich, the first-term Republican, is almost dead even with a generic Democratic opponent, despite his rising job approval numbers according to a poll released earlier this month by Public Policy Polling.

Kasich is up for re-election in 2014.

The poll, conducted Nov. 3-4 among 1,000 Ohio likely voters, asked this question: "If there was an election for governor today, would you vote for Republican John Kasich or his Democratic opponent?"

Poll: Kasich gaining popularity

Ohio Gov. John Kasich - who has been no stranger to controversy in his year and a half in office - seems to be gaining popularity with voters, according to a new poll released this week.

Public Policy Polling, a North Carolina Democrat polling firm, released a poll of Ohio voters Wednesday showing that 41 percent approve of Kasich's job performance, while another 41 percent disapprove.
