CBS celebrated the sixth anniversary of "CBS This Morning" Tuesday by announcing that  "Face the Nation" host John Dickerson will join Nora O'Donnell and Gayle King on the morning show Wednesday, Jan. 10.

He replaces Charlie Rose, who was fired in November for sexual misconduct. The news came a week after NBC promoted Hoda Kotb to co-anchor the "Today" show, replacing Matt Lauer, who also was fired in November for inappropriate sexual behavior.

"CBS This Morning" co-anchor Charlie Rose will have heart surgery Thursday to replace an aorta valve.

Rose, 75, who also has hosted a weeknight "Charlie Rose" interview show on PBS for more than 25 years, explained his absence this week in a letter read to viewers Wednesday morning.
